Envision the results and help your team to achieve them! It is now the time when many plans are hatched, objectives and goals are defined (and hopefully documented), and New Year’s resolutions are declared… The reality sets in when it comes to executing. That is where leadership effectiveness is key!
Strategies and plans are the starting point, effective execution creates the results!
Leadership effectiveness makes it happen.
Effective leaders support their teams in many ways. You can help yourself and your team to create success more often, more predictably, and more consistently. Reflect on the “Pentagon of Effective Execution” and plan accordingly!
The Pentagon of Effective Execution: Five steps for effective execution
Establish the most important over-arching objective to be accomplished for the year and define how to measure the accomplishment of that objective. Based on that create supportive OKRs for each quarter of the year resulting into achieving the targeted annual objective.
- SMART GAP ©
Create SMART Goal Achievement Plans to execute on the quarterly OKRs.
- Measuring progress
Implement a meaningful measurement system for monitoring SMART GAP progress (i.e. qualitative and quantitative performance indicators). Try to identify predictive indicators, too.
- A structured meeting schedule for feedback
Provide regular feedback to the team and/or individuals in a structured environment. Implement a specific daily, weekly, monthly meeting routine with specified meeting results. Focus on outcomes not on activities! These meetings will become the heartbeat of the organization driving results to new levels.
- Spontaneous recognition fuels motivation
Give spontaneous recognition as often as possible and provide creative, unexpected rewards when opportune. After all, it is the people who are creating results!
Implementing this 5-step approach as an organizational system in your company will yield measurable improvements on all levels. For more information about the process contact us to schedule an introductory meeting, no strings attached!
